Prof. Dana York
EMLA/NYU USA
Professor Dana Vieru York Ph.D. degree preceded by a Master of Science awarded in Biophysics and Cellular Technology. She learned Gene Therapy at Paul Sabatier University, France. Professor York served on the Board of Editors of the International Phototherapy Association in Japan and she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. She conducted clinical research trials, converting theoretical speculation into delivered, evidence-based photo bio modulation treatments and devices. She presented her findings both as an author in peer-review journals and as a lecturer at many Scientific conferences throughout the world. awarded the prize for Best Research Paper at the Laser Florence Conference in 2002 and 2015 of the International Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Today, as President of the European Medical and Agape Foundation's Ambassadeur for Survivors of Gender Based Violence she enjoys the United Nations recognition of the efforts made for philanthropy. Prof York started to be part of the study group for Artificial Intelligence Medical Data Science and Robotics of the New European Surgery Academy.

Prof. Stefan Andersson Engels
University College Cork, Ireland

Prof. Stefan Andersson Engels
University College Cork, Ireland
Stefan Andersson-Engels (born 1960) is a Swedish biophysicist specializing in the field of biophotonics. He is professor at University College Cork and the deputy director of the Irish Photonics Integration Center (IPIC) within the Science Foundation Ireland. Before joining University College Cork, he was Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University. He has co-founded 3 biophotonics companies Spectracure,[2] Lumito,[3] BioPixS.[4] He also co-founded biannual biophotonics summer school.[5]
Andersson-Engels is actively engaged in translational research, by working closely with clinicians and patients to explore and validate possible clinical application of biophotonics tools. He is considered a pioneer in biophotonics for his continuous development of advanced technologies like Photodynamic therapy, time domain diffuse optical spectroscopy, Upconverting nanoparticles for multi-modal and diffuse optical imaging. He won Erna Eblings Prize for the use of laser spectroscopy for the diagnosis of pathological tissue conditions and his development of methods for the treatment of skin tumors with photodynamic therapy[6]

Prof. Andreas H. Hielscher
New York University, USA

Prof. Andreas H. Hielscher
New York University, USA
Professor Hielscher leads the recently established Department of Biomedical Engineering and directs research in his Clinical Biophotonics Laboratory (CBL). The mission of the CBL is to establish optical tomography as a viable biomedical imaging modality and transfer this technology into clinical practice. The goal is to develop a
patient-centered approach that addresses all aspects of modern precision medicine in state-of-the-art healthcare. To this end, Prof. Hielscher's team is developing cutting-edge imaging hardware and software that provide 3-dimensional distributions of physiologically relevant parameters such as oxygen saturation or total hemoglobin concentrations and more. This includes the design of wearable devices that allow continuous patient monitoring. The CBL is currently applying this emerging technology in various clinical and preclinical studies that focus on the diagnosis and monitoring breast cancer, arthritis, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and diabetic foot syndrome (DFS). Furthermore, techniques are being developed for real-time monitoring of brain activities.
